We are delighted to announce that Bayards Cove Inn in Dartmouth has launched new menus that are packed full of the tastes and flavours of the Westcountry. As the Head Chef, Danny has created dishes that promise to satisfy the most discerning palates.
Located in Dartmouth’s second oldest building, once the residence of a wealthy merchant known as Agincourt House, Bayards Cove Inn combines historical charm with modern luxury. Original 14th-century features enhance the inn’s ambiance, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
We emphasise a commitment to quality by carefully sourcing ingredients from local suppliers, ensuring freshness and supporting the community.
Our new menus reflect this ethos, offering a relaxed atmosphere with highlights such as Bayards Boards on the lunch menu, available from noon until 2:30 pm. Options include the Westcountry Cheese Ploughmans with mature cheddar, brie, and Devon blue cheese served with sourdough, gherkins, chutney, coleslaw, salad, apple, and grapes. Seafood enthusiasts can indulge in the Seafood Platter featuring crispy whitebait, Dartmouth crab, mackerel pate, prawn cocktail, harissa mayo, fresh sourdough, and salad. Perennial favourites include the Elston Farm Prime Beef and Bone Marrow Burger with fries, mature cheddar, smoked bacon, coleslaw, and Bayard’s burger sauce, as well as the Creamy Smoked Haddock & Bacon Chowder served with crusty sourdough.
Breakfast is served from 8 am until 11 am, offering a convivial experience with options such as Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, and a traditional farmhouse breakfast.
Dinner is served from 5:30 pm until 9 pm, allowing those with families to book an early supper before bedtime for the little ones.
A daily changing specials board features locally sourced fish and other classics, complemented by a variety of cakes available throughout the day for guests enjoying a refreshing coffee.
