Enjoy an amble with your dog to Sugary Cove

There are so many beautiful walks in and around Dartmouth.

This is a lovely low key amble up to Sugary Cove that starts here at Bayards Cove Inn and is about 3 miles in total, there and back.

Remember, the roads and pavements can be uncomfortable for your dog’s paws when its warm.

Enjoy Dartmouth, and don’t forget to pop into Bayards Cove Inn!

1. Start at Bayards Cove Inn and head up towards Dartmouth Castle, a fascinating place to explore that dates back to the 15th century. Dogs are allowed in the castle grounds but not inside the castle itself.

2. Follow the South West Coast Path from Dartmouth Castle towards Sugary Cove. There are some beautiful views. Dogs on leads here as the cliff is very steep.

3. You’ll soon reach Sugary Cove, a secluded and peaceful spot where you can let your dog off and all go for a paddle or a swim.

4. From Sugary Cove, follow the path inland, passing through woodland areas to Warfleet. Take a seat and soak up the gorgeous views of Dartmouth Marina and across to Kingswear.

5. Then head back to Bayards Cove Inn for a bite to eat!
