SAVE THE DATE! The Dartmouth Food Festival (October 22nd – 24th) is the BEST food festival there is.
Here’s our suggestion for a perfect day out if you’re heading over on the Saturday.
8.30am – start with breakfast at Bayards Cove Inn where there’s so much to choose from like a Vegan Full English, Eggs Benedict or gluten free breakfast bap.
9.30am – take a stroll around the streets where you’ll find the best of the South West’s producers with stalls lining the Embankment and filling the Old Market Square. You’ll be spoilt for choice with so much to choose from like Flapjackery flapjacks, Hattiers Rum, Sharpham Cheese, Rare and Pasture charcuterie. Where do we stop!
11.30 – head to the Chef’s Demonstration Kitchen for local hero Mitch Tonks and Mark Hix (yes, him of Saturday Telegraph fame) who are on stage at 12pm. Get there early as this one will be packed.
1pm Like to cook? Enter your best sausage rolls by 2pm in the The Coastal Kitchen Home Cooks Competition in The Community Cafe in the Market Square.
1.30pm Time for a stroll in Royal Avenue Gardens. Pick up a bite to eat and refuel with a cup of Voyager Coffee from Bayards In The Gardens then, if there are young ones with you, take part in lots of free family friendly activities including face-painting, biscuit decorating and arts and crafts for children of all ages.
3pm Time for another wander around the stalls.
4pm – phew! Made it this far? Pop in to Bayards Cove Inn for a comfy seat and a good old fashioned English Cream Tea.
